Tech Data Corporation a leading IT products distributor announced the opening of the Symantec Solutions Center at its worldwide headquarters in Clearwater. The facility — the latest addition to Tech Data’s 6,000-square-foot solutions center — is a state-of-the art learning environment providing access to all the Symantec solutions sold by Tech Data. Newly constructed, the center is open and available for resellers to introduce their employees and end-user customers to Symantec’s security and data-protection solutions.
“Symantec’s extensive solutions portfolio encompasses a broad array of business-critical applications for end users of all sizes,” said Tech Data Vice President, Software Product Marketing Stacy Nethercoat. “To build successful, profitable practices around solutions ranging from security and systems management to storage and business continuity, resellers need access to expert support, and the right sales, marketing and technical knowledge. With the Symantec Solutions Center, Tech Data and Symantec are further strengthening our partner-enablement capabilities, which already include a dedicated team of specialists. These Symantec solutions experts will facilitate trainings and product demonstrations in the center.”
“Symantec is focused on giving our partners the solutions and resources they need to drive more revenue and maintain relevance with their customers,” said Symantec Vice President, North America Channel Sales Randy Cochran. “The Symantec Solutions Center will provide partners with hands-on access to Symantec’s portfolio as well as sales and technical trainings to help improve their readiness to support customers’ changing needs. We anticipate that Symantec, Tech Data and our partners will use the center to identify new opportunities and better work together to turn them into sales.”
The Symantec Solutions Center At Tech Data
The Symantec Solutions Center at Tech Data does much more than just introduce resellers to product specifications and capabilities. The center will provide broad solutions sales and technical trainings. Supported by the Tech Data solutions center’s robust networking and data center infrastructure, the facility will offer real-world demonstrations of Symantec solutions by replicating end-user IT environments using the latest software, servers, storage, client devices, networking technology and virtualization solutions.
Symantec solutions already installed in the center include:
- Symantec Endpoint Protection
- Symantec Backup Exec
- Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery
- Symantec Enterprise Vault
- Veritas NetBackup
- The Altiris Client Management Suite from Symantec
- Symantec Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
The Symantec Solutions Center features the latest video conferencing, digital signage and presentation capabilities for onsite and remote training. It also can be reconfigured depending on reseller requirements. For example, if a reseller would like to use the facility to pitch a large deal or win over a new customer, the Tech Data Symantec team will prepare the center — with boardroom-style seating — for demonstrations of specific solutions included in the proposal, as well as have experts on hand to answer questions. If resellers prefer to have their sales and technical employees visit the center for training, a traditional classroom and instructor layout will be utilized.
